About FixPakistan

What this is

FixPakistan is a free public record of injustice at Pakistani offices, in Pakistan and abroad.

It is non profit. There are no ads. FixPakistan does not take money and does not belong to any party.

How it works

  1. You report what happened.
  2. Claude, an AI service by Anthropic, removes names and numbers, and translates your report into Urdu and English.
  3. New reports go live a few hours after they are sent, so nobody can match the time to the person who sent it.
  4. Other people say if the problem was fixed or not.
  5. A case shows as fixed when at least 5 people say it was fixed, and they are more than the people who say it was not fixed.
  6. When a case gets many comments, the system writes a short summary of them.

The rules

  • Do not write the names of people.
  • Do not write phone numbers or ID card numbers.
  • Tell the truth.
  • No abuse and no bad words.
  • Only report about a Pakistani office, or a Pakistani embassy or consulate.

Your safety and privacy

  • The system never stores your IP address. To stop spam it keeps only a scrambled code, deleted within 30 days.
  • You do not need to give your name, email or phone number.
  • Your words are sent to Claude, an AI service by Anthropic, to remove names and numbers and to translate. Anthropic does not use them to train its AI and deletes them within 30 days. Only the cleaned version is kept on FixPakistan.
  • Only the day is shown, never the exact time.
  • Photos: faces found on your phone are covered before the photo is sent, and you can cover more. Hidden photo data, like location, is removed. Claude also checks each photo.
  • No ads and no trackers.
  • If you are in Pakistan and worried, use a VPN or Tor Browser before you send a report.

For journalists and researchers

  • Every case has a link that never changes, and a "Cite this report" box.
  • Office pages show how many reports each office has, and how many are fixed. See all offices
  • RSS feed of all reports: /rss.xml
  • Every office page also has its own RSS feed.
  • Download every published report as a CSV file: /reports.csv
  • You may quote and republish reports. Please link back to the case.
